Congratulations: On July 1, 2014 the swearing in of Steven V. Modica as the 119th president of the Monroe County Bar Association was complete. Modica, principal of Modica & Associates, Attorneys PLLC, succeeds Diane M. Cecero, general counsel, Monroe Community College. He was sworn in by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan W. Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. It was with great pleasure to hear of your selection to become president of the Monroe County Bar Association. Your success is just a confirmation of your character, integrity, dedication, enthusiasm and inspiration. Congratulations on your success! We wish you the best of luck in your new position. Updated 2014 Union Projects List: You must access the Laborers Local 435 website @ www.local435.com and create a profile which includes a user name and password to see the updated list of union projects for this season. Pipeline Operator Qualifications: The Operator Qualifications course is designed to certify participants as Qualified Evaluators for Operator Qualification (OQ) for testing/evaluation of specific tasks performed by pipeline workers. Based upon the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline Operator Qualification requirements, the course prepares workers to qualify in the 14 covered tasks associated with pipeline work. Anyone interested in being qualified for upcoming pipeline projects needs to contact the Training Department @ 585-546-8460 and speak to Lori. Reminders: Certification Cards: Check your expiration dates. You will have to leave the job and be replaced if your cards are not up to date. CHECK YOUR CARDS. School Projects: This is a reminder that if you are caught smoking on school property you will be terminated immediately, without notice or warning. Xerox Safety Training: Safety Training is held at Building #335 at 7:30 a.m. on Mondays only. Kodak Safety Training: Safety Training is only done online. Please keep your cards up to date. Safety: Safety is the seam that joins the fabric of life. Don’t let a loose thread bring it all undone. A GOOD SAFETY CULTURE IS BUILT OVER TIME. IT IS NEVER GIVEN. Drive the culture change by demonstrating your commitment to safety. Condolences: Our warmest condolences are extended to the family of our Brother Sam Roundtree. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of sorrow. As you grieve know that we are remembering you and honoring the memory of this great man. Union Meeting: As a reminder our July & August meetings have been suspended. The E-board will still meet as scheduled.
